Well, confidence is returning, and the economy looks set to bounce back hard. Companies have released budgets with an eye to recruiting additional talent, (having kept on lid on extra resource for the last year), and are now looking to exploit the growth opportunities that are now emerging.

But there’s a problem, sought after talent will be in short supply. Work/life balance is being re-examined and new hires will be looking for a genuine partnership with their future employers. Having assessed whether they have felt valued in the 12 months they will focus keenly on cultural/values fit. 4 day working weeks will become less rare with a higher level of productivity due to less travel and more work at home time.

So, if you are in the market for new talent , – more flexibility, genuine talent development programmes and regular recognition of a job well done would be a great start !

Ultimately, (as they say in the song) employees just want to be loved .
